Synopsis: Real writers are rare. - I’m one of them? - what more do you want ? A lift with a transparent cabin brings Satek Mitrovista, an elegant writer in his fifties into the office of his editor, Jerome Larue who has published fifteen of his novels. The editor tells Satek that even though he loves his style, he won’t be able to go on publishing him, since his thoughts are too eclectic and his books don’t sell, Jerome Larue now wants to follow a lighter and more fashionable trend… Satek feels his world crumbling around him. Ironic destiny - Satek still has to meet Oliver Olmeyer, a successful young male writer whose last novel he is supposed to correct. Satek goes to the meeting reluctantly… Here is Oliver – rollers and disarming smile - , everything Satek hates… Immediately the dialogue between the two men takes the aspect of a duel. The two generations come face to face… Revenge, desire, pity, admiration, jalousy the feelings between the two writers are tangled… And the outcome definitively unexpected… But here is Lara, the mistress of Satek, sensuel and beautiful. She comes to tell him in the softest way possible that his unsold books will be detroyed in the caves of his editor. Satek takes the blow once more and in his despair begs Lara to make him a child. A child ? Lara laughs… Soon she diseapears into the night, just like Oliver a couple hours before… Musique. This short film, « The writer », is a prelude to a feature film by the same title, the script of which was recompensed by the price « Scenario » in 2005 (CNC,Arte,SAcd, Femis, Ville de Paris). Jean Pierre Kalfon and Henri Garcin have a first option on this feature film which would be my first full length film.

History of this short film: This short film describes an adaptation of the feature film project "Long Shadows of Love". Since, as is commonly known, sexuality in Iran can’t be expressed freely because of constraints, for my upcoming film project, I established a direct relationship - by use of landscape as a metaphor - to the rebellion of a female protagonist, who is in danger to be crushed by choking traditions. Synopsis: Almost everyone has seen hundreds, maybe thousands of hours of television and film footage that features crowded American cities, the streets of Manhattan, American cops, yellow New York City cabs, uniforms and ambulances. Such images have become stereotypical all over the world and are widely associated with action films, crime movies and, to a certain extent medical drama; recently, after 9/11, they also evoke fear of terrorist attacks. In Plot Point, Nicolas Provost Plays with this premise: he has recorded everyday life around Times Square in New York and edited the resulting footage in such a manner that it triggers our collective memory about action and crime narrative and provides us with an uneasy feeling that something terrible might be about to happen. Plot Point shows 15 minutes, seemingly random succession of shots of crowds walking on Manhattan sidewalks; we see billboards, trucks, choreography of police cars, while uniformed NYPD officers and random people seem to be watching each other. Subtly, the combination of music, editing and photography leads the viewers into a subconscious process of establishing and discovering a story. Plot Point questions the boundaries between reality and fiction by merely suggesting cinematic narrative codes (tension curve, climax, plot point), but ultimately leaves the mystery unrevealed.

Synopsis:The presence of the sun is permanent and without precondition. Its energy is part of every living being and connects the parts within. In Quechua, a language of indigenous people in the Andes in South America, INTIÑAHUI means "IN THE EYE OF THE SUN". Inspired by ancient places of worship like Ingapirca and by works of sculptor Luis Viracocha director Klaus Schrefler developed a symbolism of numbers for the three-dimensional reconstruction of some central sculptures as a base for the animated sequences of the Visual Media Art Project. The universal language of the animated sequences serves as primary medum of communication. As for contents, the art work in nine parts deals with representation of the rhythms of life itself. The symbolic framework is formed by the meanings of the numbers one to nine, which show similar characteristics in many cultures. More than this they are often named the underlying matrix of everything. Beyond the concept of numbers INTIÑAHUI is a sequence of images, which one may know out of dreams. The animation focuses on sensual components and boasts a continuous visual flow of sensation most suitable for the big screen. The work’s complex conception is opposing current trends - there is no cut, no dialogue, the power of the work raises from its visual impact. Consequently the artwork works like a huge painting representing both micro and macrocosm. The project's emphasis lies in the visual realm; there is no classical narrative aspect. Visual context provides the backbone, so that the artwork works regardless of language, culture or origin - woven just like a dream within a dream. INTIÑAHUI stands as a multidisciplinary intercultural art work by Klaus Schrefler being developed consistently in a dynamic process.

The traditional style of rendering each stanza of poem twice is followed here, only it is once in Malayalam and once in English.
